Recipe of the Week: Maple Pumpkin Protein Smoothie
We’re not giving up on fall flavors just yet here at Maple Valley Cooperative! This Maple Pumpkin Protein Smoothie recipe is inspired by the version from Sally’s Baking Addiction. Be sure to check out the original post on that blog!
This Maple Pumpkin Protein Smoothie recipe checks all the boxes: Protein packed? Check. Nutrient rich? Check. Vegan option? Check. Full of autumn flavor? DOUBLE check! With pumpkin, spices, and (of course) our organic maple syrup, you are in for a sweet treat that you can feel good about enjoying!
Assemble your ingredients. We use organic ingredients whenever possible. For this recipe test, we even used local grown, organic pumpkin puree which was extra delicious. Canned pumpkin puree works great for this recipe, too.
Note: to make this smoothie vegan, substitute your favorite dairy alternative for the milk and half and half. We love this with oat milk or almond milk!
Using a blender, puree all ingredients on high until the smoothie is creamy. Pour into a glass and top with another little dash of cinnamon. Try not to get brainfreeze while you slurp up this pumpkin spice maple goodness! We know you are going to love it.
Some fun smoothie variations to try: add a handful of golden flax seed or pinch of chia seeds for even more health benefits. Add a tablespoon of your favorite nut butter for an extra boost of protein. If you are feeling extra indulgent, top your Maple Pumpkin Protein Smoothie with some whipped heavy cream. Extra creaminess and extra protein, yum!
This smoothie makes a great breakfast, snack, or post workout refuel. We love how versatile and customizable smoothies are; make this one your own with different spice blends or other fun add ins.
