I have been using the lemonade diet for about three years now. I use it 3 - 4 times per year to detox my system. Once a year I'll stay on it for 3 - 5 weeks to loose all the extra weight gained during the year.
In October I decided to not only detox, but to reduce my weight to where I was about 20 years ago. What added to my incentive was the company I work for was also having a weight loss contest. They wanted employees to use the fitness center, pool, and track to walk and exercise to loose weight. I weighed in on day one at 172 pounds, a waist of 39 inches and 21% body fat. Five weeks later I had lost 21 pounds, 7 inches, and 3% overall body fat. I feel great and started wearing clothing that had shrunk over the years while they were hanging in the closet. My weight loss set the record for the contest.
Since I started eating real food again, my body craves the candy and junk foods that I'd gave up. It is taking willpower to stay away from them. In addition, this opportunity has allowed me to consciously give up drinking the occasional soft-drinks. I've been off the diet for three weeks, still feel great and have not gained more than five pounds back (waste and consumed liquids still within). And just as the books suggest, since I eat two meals a day, I visit the bathroom twice a day to make room for more.
Over the years I have told numerous acquaintances about the program and have purchased several additional starter kits that I have shared with other. Several months ago there was a short promotion which I took advantage of. I purchased four one gallon containers of type "B" syrup. Several times a week I'll boil a quart of water and add several tables spoons of syrup for my nightly tea. I'm getting the additional vitamins and minerals that my system needs, and it satisfies my cravings for something sweet, while it adds additional liquids to the two quarts of water I drink a day to flush out my system.
I have saved my MOST IMPORTANT benefit for last. I have had a very serious case of acid reflux or heartburn for more than 20 years. I have participated in three different UCLA clinical trials for new prescription drugs and my doctor has prescribed several other (costly) drugs to temporally reduce the pains. After cleansing my system the first time, more than three years ago, the cleanse eliminated whatever toxins were in my system that were causing the acid reflux problem. Therefore, for the last three years I have been able to eat whatever I desired without the painful side effects of heartburn. Not to mention that I'm free of this costly drug.
I should note at this time that I'm in my sixties. I do not take ANY prescription drugs and my blood pressure is that of a 26 year old male. I attribute my wellness with better eating habits along with having cleaned out all the wastes in my system (that had accumulated over 50 years) which now allows my system to work properly. Yes, I'm a firm believer in the Master Cleanse process!
